Snow Emergency Declaration and Parking Limitations during Removal Period

When the city receives a snowfall of four inches or higher, the Mayor shall declare a 48-hour snow emergency period.  Once the public is given due notice by radio and newspaper, parking restrictions go into effect.  During the first 24-hour period, no vehicle shall be parked on the east side of any north/south street or on the north side of any east/west street.  Within the second 24-hour period, no vehicle shall be parked on the west side of any north/south street, and no vehicle shall be parked on the south side of any east/west street.  During the emergency period, parking Codes pertaining to parking on one side shall be suspended. Notification to individual vehicle owners is not required during a snow emergency.  The owner of a vehicle that is parked in violation of this section is subject to an assessment of no more than $100.
